Which Tyres
If you are unsure which tyres to go for then below if a very brief overview which might help you choose. Please note the tyres on your vehicle are the only part of the car in contact with the road so make sure you choose the best tyres so you do not compromise on safety and performance.
Many people think a tyre is just black and round and they all do the same job but infact they differ through the range from budget tyres to the premium range.
Choosing the right tyre can:
- Save you money - Buying the cheapest tyre can cost you more further down the line
- Keep the vehicle safe
- Give a smoother ride
- Give better performance on off road and difficult terrain (4x4)
- Increase mileage
Budget Tyres - These are the cheapest option for your vehicle and that's normally the only positive. They do not have the research and development like the mid range and premium tyres have. Even thou they appear to be cheaper when you come to changing your tyres, they actually may work out more expensive over time as you may find yourself changing them again sooner than you expected. This is because they use cheaper compounds within the tyre when they are made, so they will wear alot quicker. If you travel very few miles around town they may benefit you because you aren't travelling the mileage nor the speeds that will effect the longevity and you may not notice the wear as much. We have noticed that normally older cars that are over 10 years old with less value are more likely to go for the budget range. We offer cheap tyres in Louth and have large selection available.
Mid Range Tyres - We stock a mid range tyre in our General brand. These are the second line Continental brand and being from the same factories they have the same research and development put in to them. They are the perfect mix between the premium tyres but with a little help from the budget price range. We have a large selection of stock available so we should be able to find the perfect General for your vehicle. General are one of the leading tyre manufactures within the 4x4 sector and we are able to offer the General Grabber AT and General Grabber GT at great prices. People with vehicles 4-10 year old vehicles tend to go for the mid range tyres because the vehicle has been through its first few services and people still want an excellent tyre but do not want to opt for a premium manufacturer.
Premium Tyres - These are all the top makes you may have heard of and they are seen as the very best in tyre technology. If your vehicle is up to 4 years old people may be inclined to put the original tyres back on and most of the time they will be the premium tyres. These will be the tyres which would have been tested and seen as best fit for that vehicle and normally the ones they leave the showroom with. We offer premium tyres in Louth and have large selection available.
